What other Colour goes with light blue in a Kitchen?

I love baby blue colour, so ive decided to have checked blue country curtains in my kitchen, what other Colour should go with this, the walls in particular, i though light lemon on the walls is very country–im looking for 50′s style scheme, any ideas what goes with blue. the only drawback is i have really dark worktops and beige cupboards.

Ohhh…chocolate brown goes SO nice with light blue. It also darkens it a little and makes it more dramatic.

Hi Johnston1
1950s kitchen theme indicates that you will have Lots of Chrome, use of Primary Colors, Abstracts and Patterns. Kitchens were small so include stack-able objects as well, as this too was a part of the decor. I would choose a soft yellow ( like butter ) as opposed to a light lemony yellow. For me this is to bright and a ‘nerve wrecking color ‘ after awhile. Especially in large doses being a wall color. Good News is I think it is great color for accents in your kitchen space. Updating the knobs on the kitchen cupboards ( which I love that beige color ) to shiny chrome will bring the eyes up and away from the darker counter top. So there you have my thoughts, my friend. Happy Decorating!
