How can I use colours in different ways?

In my bedroom I have a beam on the ceiling about two thirds of the way across and I am thinking of putting a curtain rail on it and hanging curtains from it and sort of deviding my room into two parts.

My curtains are yellow with blue and green diamond shaped things…
I have vinyls wood floorings and a wooden bed-side table…
My bed is also made of wood which matches the floor and table…
rite now the colour is a REALLY LIGHT green…
